What an EPDM roof system includes.
EPDM is the waterproofing layer. Performance comes from the whole assembly: the deck, preparation, membrane, adhesive, seam treatment, outlets, trims and every termination.

The damp patch inside is rarely a complete diagnosis. The membrane, details and roof build-up need to be read together.
Punctures
Local damage may be repairable where the surrounding membrane and deck remain sound.
Edges and upstands
Perimeters, corners, wall junctions and terminations need separate inspection.
Standing water
Ponding points to drainage, falls or deck movement—not simply a membrane defect.
Substrate failure
Wet, contaminated or unstable decking can make patching or overlay unsuitable.
Recurring leaks
Repeated defects across a roof can signal a whole-roof condition problem.
Repair or replace an EPDM roof?
A puncture does not justify a whole new roof. A wet, unstable deck does not justify another patch.
